The Challenge
A leading European bottled water manufacturer required a reliable coding and marking solution to print variable information directly onto PET bottles at high production speeds.
The company needed a system capable of delivering clear, permanent and high-quality codes, including expiry dates and production information, while maintaining an attractive product appearance and reliable operation across continuous production lines.
The Solution
We supplied and integrated a combination of Domino laser coders and continuous inkjet (CIJ) printers to provide a complete primary and secondary packaging coding solution.
For primary packaging, two Domino laser coders were installed to apply permanent, high-quality marks directly onto PET bottles. For secondary packaging, a Domino CIJ printer was installed to code shrink-wrapped packs.
As part of the installation, we designed and supplied customised mounting solutions, laser safety protection and fume extraction systems to ensure safe and reliable operation within the production environment.
The laser coding system provides high-speed marking, no ink consumption and the ability to connect with factory information systems for efficient management of variable production data.
